This allowed an entry for him to be identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which gave exact birth information, parents' names and year of emigration. Although his daughter's baptismal record indicated he was born in Freren, he was actually baptized in the neighboring parish of Thuine. Marriage, death and children's information was from the WCdb.

PARENTS: Bernard WYNHOF
Catharine SOMER
EMIGRATION: by 1867
Holte parish emigration list - Anna Maria WINHOF, no age, emgr 1863
MARRIED: Bernard BOWE
marriage: Mar 5, 1867, St. Louis, MO
1870 MO census, St Charles County

Maria, 44, keeping house, Prussia
KLEGNAFF, Frank, 16, MO
Theodore, 2, b. unknown
living next to Theodore LEMBECK
SOURCES: This ID is not 100% certain but very probable.
Anna Maria's parents' names were not on her marriage record at Sts Peter and Paul parish but her age (41) was. Her name was found on the Holte parish emigration list so that parish's records were checked. A baptismal entry which is thought to be hers was found there but 3 years earlier than the age on her marriage record and the 1870 census indicated. Because of this slight date discrepancy and because her parents' names are not known from any U.S. documents, this identification is considered probable but not certain.

Herman Heinrich was a beneficiary named in the will of his father Wilhelm Heinrich WIENHOFF who died in 1854, St Louis, MO. His only known brother, Bernard (born 1830), received a parcel of land, noted as purchased originally by Elisabeth Eilers, formerly Elisabeth Meier widow of Mathias Meier, on 11 October 1845 and then sold by Franz Eilers and his wife Elisabeth to Wilhelm Wienhoff 4 May 1854.
William A WIENHOFF, born ca 1862, died Aug 7, 1898, St Louis, MO.
In William's probate inventory was listed the cash proceeds ($508.92) from sale of land in which he had 1/4 interest. Elsewhere it was noted to be 106.02 acres in St Charles County which was acquired by William from Bernard Weinhoff, his uncle in the 1890s (exact date illegible.) That land was determined to be in Wentzville.
RESEARCHERS: Tracy Lewis who supplied much of the information about this emigrant
SOURCES:

Herman Heinrich's approximate year of birth, parents' names and probable place of birth were known from the passenger list of the ship Bluecher. Lenerich parish records were checked and a corresponding birth/bapt entry was found there for him. He was still alive in 1854 when his father died in St Louis, MO, but has not been found on any document after that date. Because the orphaned William Wienhoff born ca 1862 was known to have been a nephew of Herman Heinrich's only known brother, the same William is presumed to have been a son of Herman Heinrich's and the same for William's brother John born ca 1866.
