Augustus VAN DER AHE born ca 1858-60, Germany
Carolina VAN DER AHE born 1863, Drope, Lengerich
RESEARCHERS: Dave Halm (davehalm@netins.net) who has this emigrant in his WorldConnect database
SOURCES: Most information was taken from Dave Halm's WorldConnect database. Maria Anna's tombstone gave her date of birth and said she was born in Wettrin, Krehspiel, Wallage Frasen, Hannover. Thinking that might be Lengerich, that parish's records were checked and a birth/baptismal record was found there for Maria Anna, 20 days later than the date on the tombstone. Her parents' names, as stated above, were taken from that document. The ship information was found on the FTM cd index to the Germans to America book series.

The identification of Margaretha and her husband was suggested by their location on the 1900 census, living nextdoor to Maria Theresa [SCHOMAKER] CLASEMAN. That relationship and Margaretha's birth information and year of emigration found on the same census allowed an entry for her to be identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which supplied complete date and place of birth and parents' names.
