Maria Engel's date and place of birth (as Ramsel, L ingen) were noted in Stephanie Calcagno's WCdb. Because her surname was known to have occurred in Baccum parish, that parish's records were checked in the online Datenbank and a corresponding birth/bapt entry was found there for her on the same date as the one in the WCdb. Her parents' names as noted above were taken from that record. Information about emigration, husbands, children and death was from the WCdb.
