BLOMS, BLOMES, BLUM, BLOEM, BLOOM

BLOOMS, Anna Adelheid
BORN: Oct 30, 1799, Laehden (parish in Holte)*
DIED: Sep 9, 1865, Brussels, Calhoun County, IL, buried in St. Mary's cemetery
PARENTS: Tobias BLOMS*
Maria Adelheid FOCKEN
*The date above of Oct 30, 1799 found on Anna Adelheid's baptismal record in Holte and the birthdate listed on the death record in 1865 in Brussels, IL for Anna Adel Bloms, wife of Meinard Pohlman, was exactly the same. Her parents' names were not on the death record. The Bloms-Focken couple as named above were from the baptismal record Oct 30, 1799.
Problem: the marriage record for Meinard Pohlman and Anna Adelheid Bloms in 1828 in Holte gave the bride's age as 32 (so born ca 1796) and her parents' names as Herman Pohlman and Helena Moeller. The Pohlman-Moeller couple had a daughter Maria Helena born in 1796 and a daughter Maria Adelheid born in 1801. It is certainly possible that the wife of Meinard Pohlman may have been one of those two daughters but her ID still seems more likely to have been the Bloms-Focken daughter because of the exact match of her birthdate as stated on her death record in IL with the 1799 baptismal record in Holte.
EMIGRATION: 1856 - arrived New Orleans Nov 17, 1856 on the ship Ocean
Meinard POHLMAN 52, Hannover to St. Louis

Maria Elisabeth POHLMAN born 1830, Laehden, Holte

Dolores Rizzo (ImmingGenealogy@aol.com) who supplied much of the information for this emigrant
SOURCES: Caspar's parents' names and his age (70) were on his death record at St. Mary's parish. His marriage record stated he was age 32 12, from Herssum, and gave his parents' names. His wife's name and his probable place of birth were known from his entry on the Holte parish emigration list. Because other sources indicated he was born ca 1800 or 1810, that range of years were checked in the Holte parish baptismal records and the only Caspar found with the correct parents was on the date given above in 1805. (Note: there was also a Caspar born 1799, with different parents, who appears to have emigrated to Minnesota.)
