Johan Heinrich's age (58) was on his death record at St Mary's parish. That information corresponded with his entry on the passenger list of the ship Herman. His two sons named on that list were found on later censuses in Calhoun County. Bob Behnen supplied date and place of birth, parents' names and emigration information.

SOURCES: Joseph's age and probable place of birth were known from the Caspar's passenger list and from the Holte parish emigration list. The exact date was found in the church records for Holte parish which also gave the parents' names and confirmed Joseph's place of birth as Vinnen. His marriage to Jahnsen, death records for him and his first two wives and the one child's information were  from  records at St. Joseph parish. The name of the third wife is known from Heinrich Joseph's death record.

That information allowed an entry for Johan Heinrich to be identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which supplied exact birth information and parents' names, the same as those of Anton.
