From his age at death (58), a possible entry was identified for him on the passenger list of the ship Olbers. That allowed an entry for him to be identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which supplied place of birth and parents' names. His wife's name was on his death certificate and his children's information is from their OH death certificates.
