Emslanders in Washington County

Most Emslanders in Washington County, IL, settled in the western townships of Venedy, Johannisburg and Lively Grove. They were in the parish of St Libory located along the county boundry line in St Clair County, IL. Information about many of the German immigrants in that parish was recorded by Dr Heinz Marxkors including 3 books on those who came from Emsland. The books are available at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters on Lindbergh Blvd in the St. Clair County section R977-389.
